25.5" blade, Marked near the guard "Ames and Co" and dated "1861" on the other side.  Brass guard and cup, Brass pommel, leather and brass wire wrapped handle.  Copper riveted leather scabbard with buffed leather frog.  Marked on the rear "Boston Naval Yard".  The blade is mostly a brown patina with some staining.  The guard has nice untouched patina.  The leather on the handle is missing with all of the brass wire still intact. Overall very good and complete with original scabbard and frog.
