8MM short caliber, 2.25" barrel, S/N 119. Manufactured in Saint-Étienne, France by th Manufacture Française d'Armes et Cycles in the late 1890s, this firearm represents late 19th-century concealment technology. Operating as a squeezer or palm pistol, its ultra-flat profile allowed it to be completely hidden in a vest pocket or enclosed in a gentleman's fist.  Nickel finish with a hard rubber checkered grip pad. Stippled frame.  Marked on the top of the barrel "Gaulois".  This pistol retains most of the original nickel finish. Very good to excellent overall.
