.36 caliber, 4" octagonal to round barrel, S/N 452. Manufactured in Worcester, Massachusetts between 1847 and 1854, this firearm is a quintessential piece of antebellum American personal protection history. Ethan Allen and his brother-in-law Charles Thurber were pioneers of mass-production firearms, and their single-shot designs were among the most widely carried concealable pistols of the era. Blue finish with walnut grips. Overall very good with nice tight action. The metal is mostly gray with nice sharp edges. The scroll engraving is nice and pronounced. Overall very good.
