.22 caliber, 2.5" round barrel length, S/N 782. This pocket pepperbox was produced by the Bacon Arms Company in the late 1860s. Its design bypassed Smith & Wesson's fiercely defended Rollin White patent; because the cartridges chamber directly into the individual full-length barrels rather than a bored-through cylinder, it successfully circumvented the legal restrictions of the era. Blue finish with Rosewood grips. Marked on the barrel "Bacon Arms Co Norwich Conn.". This little gem is sharp and crisp with most of the blue fading to a dark plum patina. The grips are excellent.
