41 RF caliber, 2.5" barrel, S/N 8655.  Manufactured in Brooklyn, New York between 1865 and 1870, this classic .41-caliber rimfire pocket pistol is an essential piece of American firearms history. The National Arms Co. was famously purchased by Colt in 1870, who adopted this exact design as their own "Colt Second Model Derringer". Marked on the top of the barrel "National Arms Company". Engraved iron frame with checkered walnut grips. The finish has faded leaving a nice sharp and crisp metal. The grips are very good.  The bore is very good.  Very nice 2nd Model National.
