10 gauge, 22" barrel length, S/N 9012. A stage coach L.C. Smith double barrel hammer shotgun.  Designed for quick use in confined spaces.  While some of the stage coach style shotguns were ordered in shorter barrels a great many of these were cut down my law enforcement or the companies that ordered such as Wells Fargo. A large "V" marked on the frame. Patent markings on the frame.  Marked on the top of the rib "LC Smith Maker of Baker Gun Syracuse N.Y. Stub Twist".  To open the barrels you push forward on the front trigger.  The barrels have a nice dark brown twist patina. The frame and hammers have a nice even plum brown patina. This is the type of shotgun that was used in the west on Stage Coaches and railroad cars.
