.22 caliber, 24" octagonal to round barrel, S/N 18607.  As an apprentice at Remington Arms Company, Henry Quackenbush ventured out on his own to mass produce budget friendly small caliber rifles.  This is a great example of  his work. This rifle is marked on the left side of the frame "H.M. Quackenbush, Herkimer N.Y. USA.".   Nickel finish with walnut stock. This rifle retains nearly all of the original nickel finish.  A couple of tiny flakes on the top flats of the frame.  The stock with some nicks and Dings.  Overall an excellent example of this rare rifle.
