.30RF short caliber, 3.125"octagonal barrel, S/N 3134. A personalized artifact of Civil War-era Americana; a Plant Manufacturing Co. Small-Frame Front-Loading Pocket Revolver. Produced during the 1860s, this model utilized an ingenious front-loading "cup-fire" ammunition system engineered specifically to bypass Smith & Wesson’s strict enforcement of the Rollin White cylinder patent. Decorated with an inscription to Belle Forest. Blue barrel and cylinder with silver plated brass frame and rosewood grips. The barrel is sharp and crisp with traces of blue finish. The cylinder evenly matches the barrel. The frame on the left side has a inscription "Belle Forest" with engraved decorated lines around and a "Eye". The frame retains some of the silver plate finish. Overall very nice little presentation revolver.
