.31 caliber, 1.5" screw round barrels, NSN. Ursus Christian "Durs" Egg (1748–1831) is among the giants of the golden age of English gunmaking, working among other well-known makers such as Joseph Manton. Born in Switzerland, Egg moved to London in 1772 and quickly established a reputation for mechanical execution and artistry. His clientele included the highest nobles of European society and serving as the official gunmaker to King George III, George IV, and the Prince of Wales. Engraved rounded frames with folding triggers, bag shaped checkered walnut grips. Blue barrels with safeties on the back of the hammers. Marked on the left side of the frames "D.Egg London".  The case is contemporary and contains the tool that removes the barrels, oiler, spruce cutter style mold, and a tin of percussion caps.   The pistols are excellent with one displaying more use.  One with a lot of the original blue and finish. The other is a little thin.  But overall they are sharp and crisp very nice. Housed in a contemporary but elegant case.
