.38RF caliber, 4.5" octagonal barrel length, S/N 17790. Manufactured in the early-to-mid 1870s, this model represents Colt’s ingenious adaptation to the cartridge era, utilizing leftover or newly manufactured percussion parts converted to fire metallic cartridges under the Richards-Mason patents. Nickel finish with one piece walnut grips.Case colored hammer, blued wedge and hammer. This revolver retains most of the original nickel finish. Some flaking on the barrel and two small stains on the cylinder with all of the cylinder scene present. The backstrap and triggerguard don't match the frame and the barrel. The cylinder is not matching. The graips are excellent with a little scuff on the bottom of the right side. Some nicks and dings. Overall excellent.
