.22 caliber, 3" barrels, S/N 787. Manufactured in the 1860s by the Rupertus Patented Pistol Manufacturing Company in Philadelphia, PA. This pocket pistol is one of the most interesting American evasions of the restrictive Smith & Wesson / Rollin White bored-through cylinder patent. With only approximately 3,000 units ever produced surviving examples are highly desirable. Blue barrels with gilt finished brass frame. Case colored hammer. The barrels maintain most of the bright and original finish. The frame retains most of the gilt finish. The grips are excellent with a few scuffs around the bottom edge. Overall this little pistol is excellent.
