38-40 caliber, 24.375" octagonal barrel length, S/N 468685B (ca. 1893). The Winchester Model 1873 Lever Action Rifle is universally immortalized as "The Gun That Won the West." Produced continuously from 1873 to 1923 with over 720,000 units manufactured, it stands as one of the most successful and culturally significant firearms in American history. It became the definitive choice for frontiersmen, lawmen, outlaws, and cowboys alike due to its rugged reliability and rapid-fire capability. Blue finish with walnut stock and forearm. All metal is smooth and retains a lot of the blue finish just lightly fading to a plum patina. Stock and forearm with some nicks and dings. The bore is very good to excellent, bright and shiny. A very nice 73 Winchester.
