40-65 caliber, 26" octagonal length with half magazine, S/N 65791. The Winchester Model 1886 Sporting Lever Action Rifle stands as one of John Browning’s greatest engineering feats. Introduced to replace the toggle-link Model 1876, the Model 1886 debuted a massive, ultra-strong vertical sliding locking-block action capable of handling the most powerful big-game centerfire cartridges of the era. Manufactured continuously from 1886 to 1935 with over 159,000 produced, it became the definitive heavy-timber rifle for hunting North American big game. Blue barrel with case colored frame. Walnut stock and forearm. The barrel has a lot of the blue finish just lightly fading with sharp edges.  The frame is a silvery gray with some colors and nice sharp edges.  The buttstock and forearm have some nicks and dings.  Overall the wood has that nice untouched look with opened grain stock and forearm.  The bore is very good.
