22 Long Rifle caliber, 24" octagonal barrel, S/N 76392. A Model 61 Pump-Action Rifle featuring a rare 24-inch octagonal barrel. Introduced in 1932, the streamlined Model 61 dispensed with traditional exposed hammers in favor of a sleek internal-hammer receiver and an elegant takedown design. While the vast majority of Model 61s left the factory with standard round barrels, Winchester offered the classic octagonal barrel configuration exclusively during the early production years. Blue finish with grooved walnut forearm and checkered steel buttplate. Standard front and rear barrel sights. The barrel and receiver retain nearly all of the original blue finish. The magazine tube and the retainers have almost all of the original blue finish. This rifle appears to have been store in a closet as there is a little oxidation on the back of the receiver running across. Overall an excellent Model 61 with most of the original blue finish.
