.50 caliber, 40" heavy octagonal barrel, NSN. With no markings on the barrel or engraved lock, this traditional mountain man rifle follows en suite with the traditions of earlier Kentucky made rifles.  Constructed from a heavy curly maple stock with a raised cheek piece on the left side.  Brass furniture with double tang screw and double set triggers.  Front blade sight and rear notched sight.  Barrel flats measure 1 1/8" across. This rifle is an excellent example of a plain unmarked mountain man rifle.  With a nice even look overall with the metal displaying a brown patina.  Stock is very good with some nicks and dings.  Overall excellent condition with a sharp and crisp look throughout.
