.620 bore diameter, 9.25" octagonal to round barrel, NSN. This fine silver-mounted British officer's flintlock pistol was crafted in Birmingham, England, circa 1770–1780 by master gunmaker John Waters. The elite private-purchase sidearm features an engraved lock plate signed "WATERS," hallmarked sterling silver mounts, and a finely carved English walnut stock. Birmingham proofs on the left side of the barrel. Engraved on the tang and top of the barrel near the breech. Safety on Lockplate behind the hammer. Silver mounted furniture with deep relief figures. A Silver Panoply of arms sideplate on the left flat of the stock. Walnut stock with silver wire around the tang. Hallmarks on the triggerguard. Circa 1770 officers pistol with Charles Freeth Birmingham silversmith hallmarks. The entire pistol has a nice untouched look. Overall this pistol is excellent.
