620 bore diameter, 9" round barrel, NSN. Offered here is an exceptional artifact from the transformative era of 19th-century British martial arms: a Percussion British Military Cavalry Pistol bearing the highly prestigious mark of master gunmaker Durs Egg of London. Celebrated for his peerless craftsmanship as gunsmith to King George IV, Egg's military contract firearms are highly regarded for their rugged engineering and superb metallurgical quality. Marked on the top of the barrel "D.Egg London". The lockplate marked "D.EGG". This pistol was originally flint and converted by a British Arsenal to percussion. The excellent walnut stock with beaver tail behind the tang molding around the lockplate and on the left side with standard "S" shaped brass plate. Overall the metal is excellent and the pistol is excellent condition.
