.550 bore diameter, 28" octagonal barrel with folding bayonet, S/N 8. H. Muller was producing firearms in Mehlis during the 1840"s. This was an historic town in Germany well known for gun manufacturers. With the distinguished characteristic of a spring loaded bayonet on the right side. This rifle has a front blade sight and rear notched sight. All parts including the lockplate, triggerguard, barrel, upper tang and bayonet marked "No. 8". Double set triggers, brass furniture and brass tip ramrod. Checkered stock with wood sliding patchbox cover. Left side of the stock with raised cheek piece. This is a very good example of a small batch German gun maker. All the metal and stock has been cleaned in the European fashion retaining crisp markings. Brass with nice yellowing patina. Bore is very good.
