.50 caliber, 6.75" octagonal barrel with patent breech, NSN. An elegant and historic German Flintlock Pistol, dating to the early 19th century. This piece is prominently marked "A. Oberndorf", tracing its lineage directly to the prestigious gunmaking hub of Oberndorf am Neckar in Württemberg, Germany, the cradle of what would later become the legendary Mauser works. German proof mark on the top of the barrel a long with "Oberndorf" on the lock and the barrel. The left side of the barrel marked in a banner "Gewehr Febrik".  Empire style butt with checkered pistol grip walnut stock. Iron furniture.  Overall this pistol is excellent with sharp and crisp marking.
