9MM caliber, 4" barrel length, S/N 15568. The Bergmann-Bayard Model 1910 is one of the most mechanically distinct service pistols of the early 20th century. While initially designed by German arms pioneer Theodor Bergmann, production was contracted to the premier Belgian firearms manufacturer Anciens Établissements Pieper (AEP), which marketed the pistol under their famous "Bayard" brand. Instantly recognizable by its forward-mounted magazine housing—evocative of the iconic Mauser C96—the Model 1910 features a robust short-recoil operating system with a vertically sliding locking block. The Model 1910 achieved distinction when it was officially adopted by the Danish military just prior to the outbreak of World War I. Because the German occupation of Belgium in 1914 permanently halted Belgian production, authentic, original AEP-manufactured specimens are highly prized by military arms historians. Finished in blue with checkered walnut grips. In good overall condition retaining most of the blue with wear isolated to the high edges and muzzle. The grips are very good but do display nicks and dings consistent with use. Excellent bore.
