.38 caliber, 6" barrel, S/N 98. A rare and desirable USMC Colt Model 1905 Double Action Revolver that holds the distinction of being the first hand gun made under contract for the USMC. This specific Colt is an early first year production being made in the first 10% issued.  These Colts are rare and special but finding one in the top 10% is extremely rare and desirable. Blue finish with lanyard ring on the bottom of the grip. Checkered walnut grips.  The bottom strap is marked "USMC".  A star marked on the back of the cylinder.  This revolver retains some of the blue finish. The finish is a little thin on both sides of the barrel.  Wear to the high edges.  The grips show use and the checkering is a little worn.  The bore is excellent.
