.38 caliber, 6" barrel, S/N 150961. Being the first general issued double action revolver with a swing gate, the Model 1896 is a unique early modern pistol that belongs in Colt's New Army and New Navy line of pistols. Blue finish with a two-line barrel address. The eft side of the frame is marked with "RAC" and "LEB". Bottom of grips with "RAC" markings. This revolver retains most of the arsenal blue finish. A little wear to the high edges and at the front of the muzzle. A slight streak thru the cylinder stops. No cartouches on the right or left grip. Some nicks and dings. The bore is bright and shiny.
