.36 caliber, 7.25" octagonal barrel,  S/N 8825. Savage Model 1861 Navy Percussion Revolver, manufactured from 1861–1862. Recognized by its silhouette and unique heart-shaped trigger guard, the Savage Navy stands as one of the most  interesting sidearms issued during the American Civil War. This revolver is very sharp and crisp overall with traces of original finish blending with a very nice plum brown. The markings on the top of the frame are sharp and crisp. The grips has some nicks and dings.  Overall a very nice revolver.
