U.S. Pattern 1790–1803 Eagle Pommel Artillery Officer’s Sword, dating to the dawn of the Federal Period. Forged and mounted during an era when the young United States lacked centralized ordnance sword standards for its elite commanders, this private luxury commission represents early American martial art. 31" clip point blade with gilt panels of military motifs.  Leather and brass wire wrapped handle, brass guard, brass backstrap and Eagle pommel.  The blade is smooth with nice dark brown  patina and the gilt is still showing.  The leather has some minor scuffs.  The brass with nice dark patina.
