.600 bore diameter, 12" round barrel, NSN. This Scarce Revolutionary War British Tower Flintlock Pistol (1756–1777) is a highly desirable military handguns for collectors of early Americana and British martial arms. Handguns from this era are exceptionally rare because, unlike infantry muskets, pistols were issued in far smaller numbers, primarily to cavalry regiments (Dragoons), Royal Navy officers, and high-ranking military staff The barrel has British proofs near the breech,  A Crown on the back of the tang. Crown marking on the side belt hook. The brass triggerguard with an old repair just behind the screw that holds the guard to the stock. The hammer is a period replacement, the stock was a period replacement. More than likely this piece saw damage in a battle and was restocked.  Overall very nice with untouched dark brown patina.  This  pistol a has a nice even look.  Being the 250 celebration year here is a chance for a pistol that was used during the Rev War, French and Indian War and The War of 1812.  A great looking pistol.
