.770 bore diameter, 11.25" tapered octagonal to round barrel, NSN. The Early German Flintlock Military Pistol (Circa 1760–1790) represents a fascinating and highly varied category of European martial firearms spanning the Seven Years' War and the Napoleonic Wars. Unlike centralized nations like Great Britain or France, which produced highly standardized national firearm patterns, 18th-century "Germany" was a fractured patchwork of independent electorates, principalities, and kingdoms. As a result, German military pistols from this era are generally categorized by the specific region or kingdom that commissioned them, such as Prussia, Hesse-Cassel, Saxony, or Hanover. Early flat style curved lockplate. Flat style hammer and faceted pan. The hammer may be an old replacement. Walnut stock with carving around the tang, molding around the sideplate. Iron furniture. This pistol has a nice dark attic look with a small piece of wood missing around the back of the lock behind the hammer.  Overall very good example of this pre Revolutionary war pistol.
