.640 bore diameter, 28" octagonal to round with horizontal grooves cut into the barrel and it is also swapped, NSN. A luxury style firearm used by European nobility using a spring driven serrated wheel that sparks to ignite the gunpowder. This piece has a dragoon mask muzzle. The rear of barrel is marked with makers mark near the the breech. Small blade front sight and two leaf rear barrel sights. Scrimshawed stag horn patchbox. Finely scrimshawed bone nosecap. Wood stock, double trigger with iron triggerguard. The left side of the stock with two bone inlays around the sidelock screws. The lock is cleaned the European manner; nice and bright. The barrel is gray blending with a light patina. Overall this is in excellent condition of a German Wheellcok sporting rifle that dates to around 1640.
