A scarce Napoleonic Wars Royal Navy cannon priming horn, a vital piece of naval artillery equipment This specialized, utilitarian powder horn was explicitly issued to the Captain of the Gun on British warships to hold the fine-grain priming powder required to ignite the main propellant charges of Great Britain’s ship-killing cannons. Constructed with a wood plug and iron spout.  Measuring at 17" in length and overall good condition.
