34.25" Tapered spear point blade, Good Early 17th Century German Swept Hilt Rapier Circa 1600 By Wundes. The blade broad at the ricasso tapering to a point and struck with two blade-smith’s marks including the highly desirable “King’s Head” stamp of the renowned Wundes family. Johannes Wundes registered the “King’s Head” first in 1560. The swept hilt of elegant form. The wood grip is spirally fluted with fine old hand worn patina. Globose pommel. This attractive rapier appears to be homogenous and in good condition throughout.
